On 17 May 1960, a British-Indian-Nepalese expedition led by Jimmy Roberts reached the summit ofAnnapurna II (7,937 m), approaching it from the northern flank and completing the ascent along the western ridge. The mountaineers who reached the summit that day were Richard Grant, Chris Bonington and the Sherpa Ang Nyima.
